About the event
Intimate and fragmented moments unfold in a community of zoos and animal rescue centres across Argentina. As histories of these institutions are uncovered, dedicated workers commit both day and night to caring for the remaining enclosed animals, fostering a mutual bond that transcends imagined boundaries between human and animal.
The screening on Saturday 21 February will be followed by an in-person conversation between Jessica Sarah Rinland and poet Leo Boix.
Leo Boix is a bilingual Latinx poet, born in Argentina and based in London. Boix is editor and lead translator of Hemisferio Cuir, introducing English readers to major Latin American voices. His work appears in POETRY, The Poetry Review, Poetry London and international anthologies. A fellow of The Complete Works program, he co-directs Un Nuevo Sol, nurturing Latinx writers in the UK.
